Application Guide for 2025 Chinese Government Scholarship of LNUTCM(High-level Graduate Program)

I Supporting Categories, Duration and Instruction Language

1.Supporting Category: Master's and doctoral students.

2.Duration. This scholarship only supports master’s students for no more than 3 academic years or doctoral students for no more than 4 academic years. The scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language/preparatory study, as specified in the Admission Letter.

3.Instruction Language. Scholarship students can register for Chinese-taught program.

II Scholarship Coverage

The Chinese University Program provides a full scholarship which covers tuition waiver, accommodation, stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance. Partial Scholarship which covers accommodation, stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance. Please refer to Introduction to Chinese Government Scholarship — Coverage and Standard for details of each item.

Ⅲ Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must

- be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health both mentally and physically.

- be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs.

- be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.

- have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 4 when applying for Chinese-taught master’s or doctoral programs;

- meet the admission requirements of the applied universities in terms of academic ability, language proficiency and other relevant criteria.

IV Application Procedure

Step 1 - Apply directly to the admission office of International Education College, Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (LNUTCMIEC). Please send application documents to lnutcmiec@hotmail.com and submit all your application documents to the admission office of LNUTCMIEC.

Step 2 - Complete the online application procedure at Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (Visit http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or http://www.campuschina.org and click “Scholarship Application for Students” to log in), submit online the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship, and print a hardcopy. Agency Number is 10162 (Required).

Step 3 - Submit all your application documents to the admission office of LNUTCMIEC before the deadline.

Step 4 - Our university is responsible for examining the application documents, assessing the applicants by written tests or interviews and recommending candidates to China Scholarship Council. Applicants who are pre-admitted by our university can be funded by Chinese Government Scholarship to study in China after being examined by the experts of the Scholarship Council.

Step 5 - After the China Scholarship Council notifies us of the admission result, we will notify the applicants.

Step 6 - Note: The China Scholarship Council does not accept direct applications from individuals.

V Application Documents （in duplicate）

1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English).

2. Copy of Passport Home Page. If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (meaning the passport expires before September 2025),please apply for a new passport before submitting the application.

3. Notarized highest diploma. Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

4. Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). Copies of academic records from first to last semester during the undergraduate, graduate (if any), and doctoral programs (if any) shall be provided. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department. They can be in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English.

5. Language qualification certificates. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit valid HSK reports in accordance with the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. Applicants who have obtained a degree from a Chinese university taking Chinese as its teaching language are not required to provide HSK.

6. A study plan proposal. A study plan written in Chinese or English shall contain more than 1,000 characters or words，including the understanding of the major and institution to be applied, the views on the future development of the major, personal development plan, the reasons for choosing this major in our university; the proposal of a doctoral student shall be signed by the applicant’s Chinese supervisor.

7. Recommendation letters. Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of learning in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth, as well as the cooperation between the supervisors or the exchange between universities both in China and abroad.

8. If the applicant has any achievements in publishing thesis’s, please attach a list (including the title of the thesis, the name of the publisher, the date of publication, etc.).

9. A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

10.Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

12.Letter of commitment.

Ⅵ Deadline

Please bind the above materials on the left side in the above order (in two volumes). The application materials should be submitted to the admission office of LNUTCMIEC before the deadline of March 3, 2025. No matter whether the applicant is admitted or not, the application materials will not be returned.

Ⅶ Attention

1. After the materials pass the preliminary examination, we will inform the candidates to attend the interview by email, please pay attention to check the email.

2. Payoff service is not allowed by the CSC in enrollment of Overseas study agency or any third parties.

3. Chinese Government Scholarship students are not allowed to enjoy other scholarships (excluding all kinds of one-time incentives) established by the Chinese government at all levels and the accepted institutions. Once discovered, the Chinese Government scholarship will be cancelled and the Chinese Government scholarship will be returned. Those who deliberately conceal their financial assistance will not be allowed to apply for Chinese government scholarships within three years, except for the cancellation of their qualifications.
