Self-funded Undergraduate Program

I School Introduction

Liaoning  University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (LNUTCM) was established in  1958 as Liaoning College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Approved by the  Liaoning Provincial Committee, Liaoning TCM Training School  (established in 1955) and Liaoning TCM Hospital (established in 1956)  combined into the present Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese  Medicine (LNUTCM). And it is the only institution of higher education in  traditional Chinese medicine in Liaoning Province. In 2006, with the  approval of the Ministry of Education, the University was renamed  “Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine”, the present name.

LNUTCM  covers a total area of more than 1000 mu, with the main campus located  in Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province, and the branch  campuses located in Dalian and Benxi respectively, forming the “one  university , three campuses” pattern. The University has set up 7  disciplines, including medicine, science, engineering, management,  literature, law and agriculture, with 27 undergraduate majors and more  than 13500 students. LNUTCM boasts 18colleges,  4 directly affiliated hospitals, 1 teaching department, 3 teaching and  experiment centers, 1 laboratory animal center, 1 academy of science, 3  research institutes, 3 libraries, and it is the only institution of  higher education in Liaoning Province that cultivates talents in  Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Traditional Chinese Pharmacology,  Acupuncture and Tuina, Chinese and Western Medicine in Clinical  Practice, Senior Nursing and other medical related fields.

III Application Conditions:

1. Non-Chinese citizens with good health.

If  both or one of the parents are Chinese citizens and reside abroad, and  the applicant was born with foreign nationality, they can apply to study  as a foreign student in China for their undergraduate program. The  applicant must have a record of having resided abroad for 2 years in the  last 4 years (as of April 30,2026). If the Chinese citizen foreign  applies to study as a foreign student in China for their undergraduate  program, the applicant must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality  certificate for 4 years (or more), and have a record of having resided  abroad for 2 years in the last 4 years (as of April 30, 2026)(A  full year can be counted if one has actually resided in a foreign  country for 9 months or more within that year, based on the entry and  exit stamps.)

2. High school graduation or above.

3.For  Chinese-language teaching programs, the applicant must have a score of  at least 180 points on the new HSK Level .If the applicant does not meet  this requirement, they should apply for Chinese language training  first.

4.Applicants  who possess the results of the Chinese Scholarship Council Admission  Assessment for Undergraduate Studies (CSCA) and are applying for medical  majors such as Traditional Chinese Medicine must take the examinations  in Science (Chinese-medium) and Mathematics (Chinese-medium). Applicants  are required to submit their CSCA results before June 30.


IV Self funded project application process:

1. Application Period: January 1, 2026 - June 30, 2026

2. Application Materials:

(1)Self-funded  Student Information Import Template (available from the International  Education College of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese  Medicine's official website under "Common Downloads");

(2)  Application Form for Enrollment of Foreign Students at Liaoning  University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (available from the  International Education College's official website under "Common  Downloads");

(3) Passport (front page, white inner page, and visa page if there is a record of arrival in China);

If  you are already in China, you also need to submit: passport visa page  and entry stamp page (please note the continuity of the visa time),  Temporary Residence Registration Form for Foreigners;

(4) 2-inch identity photos (3.5cm x 4.9cm, 8 copies,100kb-500kb)

(5)  Notarized high school and above highest degree certificate (including  diploma) and transcript (both require notarization and Chinese  translation);

(6)  Certificate of No Criminal Record or signed commitment form for no  criminal record (available from the International Education College's  official website under "Common Downloads");

(7) Asset certificate (proof of deposit for one year's tuition and living expenses);

(8)Foreigner  Physical Examination Form (see commonly used downloads). Applicants  should strictly follow the items required in the "Foreigner Physical  Examination Form" for examination. The 'Foreigner Physical Examination  Form' is invalid if there are missing items, no photos of the individual  are attached, or if the photo is not stamped with a seal or signed by a  doctor or hospital. The validity period of the inspection results is 6  months;

(9) HSK4 or above score certificate (HSK score report is valid for 2 years);

(10)Having scores in the Chinese Scholarship Council Admission Assessment for Undergraduate Studies (CSCA).

(11) letter of commitment (available from the International Education College's official website under "Common Downloads");

(12)  For ethnic Chinese, provide visa page, entry and exit stamps,  naturalization certificate for more than 4 years by April 30, 2026,  and overseas residence certificate for more than 2 years based on the  stamps (provide scanned copies of the passport entry and exit pages).

3. Fees:

(1) Registration fee: 800 yuan.

(2) Tuition fee: 22,000 yuan per academic year.

(3)  Accommodation fee: Students should pay the tuition and accommodation  fees as required by the school when they enroll. The accommodation fee  varies depending on the room type. The detailed fee is available upon  request. Please note that the above may be adjusted according to the  actual situation.

(4)  Insurance fee: Self-funded students need to purchase insurance as  required by the school themselves, with an insurance fee of 800 yuan per  person per year.

(5) Payment method: Bank transfer or other methods.

(6)  Payment time: After receiving the admission notice, students will  receive a payment notice. Please pay the fees according to the specified  time.


4.Application Steps:

Submit  the electronic application materials to the "International Education  College of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine"  Admissions Office for review. After the school's review, the letter of  admission will be issued. The Foreign Student Visa Application Form  (Electronic ID) will be sent to the reserved email box. Please carefully  check the email address and make sure to apply with the two documents  for visa processing at the Chinese embassies and consulates in foreign  countries.
